The Guardian - Never Let Go

Saturday, August 16, 2008

Can you lay your life down, so a stranger can live?
Can you take what you need, but take less than you give?
Could you close every day, without the glory and fame?
Could you hold your head high, when no one knows your name?
That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say.

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, cause you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Can you lose everything, you ever had planned?
Can you sit down again, and play another hand?
Could you risk everything, for the chance of being alone?
Under pressure find the grace, or would you come undone?
That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say.

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, cause you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Never let go, Never let go, Never let go

Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, 'but you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.

Pray for me Brother

Sunday, April 13, 2008

From A R Rahman’s first English album Pray For Me Brother. The album is his contribution to the global fight against poverty. Pray For Me Brother Composed by A R Rahman Lyrics by Blaaze. A really nice song.

Song Lyrics

Pray for me brother
Pray for me brother
Pray for me sister
Are you searchinÂ’…
Pray for me brother

LookinÂ’ for the answers To all the questions In my life
Will I be alone Will you be there By my side
Is it something he said Is it something he did
I wonder why He is searchinÂ’ For the answers
To stay alive

Could you ever listen Could you ever care
To speak your mind
Only for a minute For only one moment
In time

The joy is around us But show me the love
That we must find
Are you searchinÂ’ For a reason to be kind, to be kind…

He said… Pray for me brother
Pray for me brother Pray for me sister
Pray for me brother Say
what you wanna say now
But keep your hearts open
Be what you wanna be now
LetÂ’s heal the confusion
Pray for me brother

DonÂ’t let me take When you donÂ’t wanna give
DonÂ’t be afraid Just let me live
DonÂ’t let me take When you donÂ’t wanna give
DonÂ’t be afraid Say what you wanna say now
But keep your hearts open

Be what you wanna be now LetÂ’s heal the confusion
Pray for me brother Pray for me brother
IÂ’m ashamed ah, brother be dying of poverty
when he down on his knees its only then he prays
And itÂ’s a shame ah, brother be dying of ignorance
cos the world is a trip and everybodyÂ’s a hypocrite
Need to stop ah , taking a look at the other
IÂ’m not ashamed of poverty
need to be making his life better
So think about it, think about it once more
cos life is a blessing and itÂ’s not justa show, ah
Round and round the world is spinning around

We need to be singing a prayer, we need to be singing it now
Round and round the world is turning around
We need to be singing a prayer, we need to be singing it now
Need to be feeling the power, need to be feeling the faith
We need to coming together just to win this race

Need to be feeling the power, need to be feeling the faith
We need to coming together just to win this race (twice)
Are you searching for a reason to be kind ?

Alston Koch dedication to N0. 1 Spin Doctor MURALI

Sunday, January 20, 2008

Australian singing legend Alston Koch who was born in Sri Lanka has attracted worldwide interest with his tribute song to the world's greatest bowler in the history of cricket, Muttiah Muralitharan. 'Murali' is now the world's leading wicket taker, he swept past Australian spin bowler Shane Warne's record recently when Sri Lanka played England in a 3 test match series on the island.

In London, Muttiah Muralitharan received a standing ovation when his name was mentioned at the 'We, Children of the Pearl' cultural show held at Imperial College on 15th December 2007. Murali was hailed as a wonderful example of diversity in action in Sri Lanka.

Alston Koch has recorded the only tribute song officially endorsed by Murali himself.Alston told World Music Central that he has also released a music video to go with his 'Murali' song. It has been played by radio and TV stations in three continents and been even mentioned on the BBC's 'Test Match Special.'

He is the only Sri Lankan-born singer song-writer to be signed to an international record label and have success in Australia, Asia and Europe with Platinum & Gold record status.

IR – Decoder for Sony Remotes

Sunday, January 13, 2008

Infrared remote control has been around for a very long time now, and we tend to take it for granted. Yet, it is a marvel of modern technology, which allows a whole variety of devices to be activated with the touch of a button. Remote control handsets are so abundant that they may be purchased new for a few pounds, which makes them viable items for experimentation. There are dedicated chips available that will decode the signals from a particular handset, however, with the flexibility and cost effectiveness of the PIC range of microcontrollers we can develop a decoding subroutine that may be placed into your own programs, or used as a standalone infrared to RS232 converter.

It is not my intention to teach you how to program a PICmicro, therefore, throughout this article; it is assumed that you already have some knowledge of either assembler or PicBASIC Pro. And that you have a means of programming the PIC16F84. For more information concerning the PicBASIC range of compilers, as well as an assortment of programmers, visit Crownhill Associate’s dedicated web site at www.picbasic.co.uk. For information concerning assembler programming, visit Microchip’s web site at www.microchip.com.

Here is the circuit diagram. I successfully built this.

The out put of RS232 is like this

IR_BUT<Button Code>\rIR_DEV<Device Code>\r

Button Code is the value assigned to the button i.e E00(in hex) is the value for for Number 1 button
Device code is the value assigned to the device.

Source Code written is PICBasic

Middleware Architecture Assignment

Friday, January 4, 2008

Everyone knows about Hearts Game in Windows. We have been given an assignment of Middle ware Architecture Course unit to recreate the Hearts Game which can be played in a Network using RMI(Remote Method Invocation) and RPC(Remote Procedure Call). This program is written in java.
Here, I didn't implemented all the features in Hearts Game. But basic rules & functionalities are implemented. You are welcome for comments.
